The bisexual pride flag was designed in 1998 by Michael Page. Its intent it to give the bisexual community a symbol comparable to the gay pride flag of the larger LGBTQ+ community. It was at the BiCafe's first-anniversary party on December 5, 1998 that the first bisexual pride flag was unveiled to the public.
